What is Junetenth?

Juneteenthlou is a platform dedicated to organizing and celebrating Juneteenth in Louisville, KY. Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, commemorates the day on June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas and announced that all enslaved people were to be freed.
